Stone the crows! Charlie Edwards local hero
Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, local Charlie Edwards fights flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Crsitofer Rosales, from Nicaragua, with the firm intention of stripping him of his crown.
No simple task, as the champion has had a great year, conquering the WBC world crown by defeating the then unbeaten Daigo Higa in Japan, then traveling to Belfast and stopping the local idol Paddy Barnes with an impressive KO.
This is what the challenger audaciously predicts:
“Yeah, I’m ready! I’ve done everything. I’ve left no stone unturned, and me and my coach we’ve perfected a game-plan. I will take that WBC belt on Saturday night.
“I’m in the best place I’ve ever been, mentally, emotionally and physically. With all of those things going together, it makes me a very dangerous fighter.
“Very happy with my new coach, Grant Smith, he’s given me everything, he’s made my training and my training camp so easy.
“I’ve had top-notch sparring, brought sparring partners over who are very similar styles. I just can’t wait.
“Saturday night, it’s new. It’s me.”
