Stephen Fulton defeats Carlos Castro in Las Vegas

Former world champion Stephen Fulton recovered from a knockdown in the fifth round, to win by split decision against the Mexican based in Phoenix, Arizona, Carlos Castro, this Saturday, on the card of “Canelo Álvarez vs Edgar Berlanga”, which took place and was savored at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Castro hurt Fulton in the fifth round, sending him to the canvas with a powerful  straight right, but befitting the spirit and determination of a world class fighter, Stephen  managed to recover, to craft and achieve a more technical fight.

He won on two cards 96-93 and 95-94. A third Judge scored in favor of Castro 95-94, in a very close and absorbing fight.

With this victory Fulton won a WBC featherweight elimination fight.
