Prospect José “Rayo” Valenzuela (11-0, 7 KOs) fights former WBC super featherweight champion Francisco “Bandido” Vargas (27-3-2, 19 KOs) for the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Title.
It`s part of the undercard of Spence vs. Ugas this Saturday at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas; and is presented by TGB Promotions with broadcast on Showtime Boxing PPV.
Rayo Valenzuela said:
“I train hard for every fight, but this one is particularly important to me because it will take me to the next level of my career. My goal is to become World Champion. For that I know I must face tougher competition, namely Bandido Vargas. I am ready to face everyone I need to face to get to where I want to go.
“Training alongside my gym mates, David Benavidez and Diego Pacheco, makes me push myself even harder in camp. I feel strong and ready for a war. My trainer Jose Benavidez has done an excellent job. I’m ready.
“April 16th will mark the day that I will go from being just a prospect in boxing. I will work my way up to become World Champion. I am looking to steal the show that night with my fight.”
