In a monumental step for professional sports, Sky Sports and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) have announced a multi-year strategic agreement that positions the British broadcaster and the NOW platform as the exclusive home for the world’s most important women’s boxing events (MVPW).
This alliance not only guarantees the broadcast of elite events in the United Kingdom and Ireland but also integrates featured cards from the United States, consolidating an unprecedented global platform for women in the ring.
The agreement will launch in spectacular fashion on April 5 at the iconic Olympia London, marking the official debut of MVPW in the British market. The card features a world-class double main event:
Lightweight Unification: Rising star Caroline Dubois will face the experienced Terri Harper in a duel that promises to define the future of the 135-pound division.
War for the Four Belts: In one of the most anticipated fights, Ellie Scotney will put her supremacy on the line against the tough Mexican Mayelli Flores, in a bout where all four world titles of the division will be at stake.
Jonathan Licht, Managing Director of Sky Sports, emphasized that this agreement reaffirms the network’s commitment to being the global leader in women’s sports: “We aim to consolidate our position as the ultimate destination for elite boxing, building on the success of historic audiences like Shields vs. Marshall and Price vs. Jonas.”
For their part, Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of MVP, noted: “This alliance represents a key step in boosting the global growth of women’s boxing, generating new and better commercial and athletic opportunities for female athletes.”
