This past Sunday, February 15th, the Sumiyoshi Sport Center served as the stage for one of the season’s most vibrant cards under the Muto Promotion banner.
The day was marked by the crowning of a new monarch and a dramatic draw in the co-main event that has left the Super Bantamweight division in suspense.
In the night’s main event, Japan’s Shuma Nakazato made a statement of authority by defeating South Korea’s Min Ho Jung via unanimous decision. Following a display of strategic punching and ring generalship, Nakazato claimed the OPBF
Lightweight Championship with scorecards of 98-91 (x2) and 96-93. With this victory, Nakazato solidifies his position as the region’s top exponent at 135 pounds.
Intensity reached its peak in the co-main event for the OPBF Super Bantamweight Championship.
Japanese contenders Kaito Yamasaki and Mugicha Nakagawa engaged in a back-and-forth battle that the judges were unable to tip in either direction.
After completing the scheduled rounds, the official scorecards reflected the parity of the bout. With a draw being declared, the OPBF Super Bantamweight title remains vacant, leaving the door open for a potential rematch.
