WBC Lightweight Champion, American Shakur Stevenson, boxed intelligently and precisely, to defeat Mexican William “Camarón” Zepeda, who held the interim title, by unanimous decision this Saturday at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

Stevenson had been criticized viz his effective and efficient,  yet unexciting and sometimes dull wins, demonstratively for not taking risks. or providing a toe to toe, cheek to cheek, chin to jowl spectacle, but tonight he did the opposite.

He brazenly stood toe-to-toe with Zepeda, demonstrating his boxing talent, fearlessness, quick silver elusiveness, mitt wit, but also rough tough gritty give and take resolve , and won clearly on the scorecards, with tallies of 118-110, 118-110, and 119-109, after 12 rounds of absorbing action packed with crescendo stanzas in New York…just in time for a breakfast o& champions.

The ring remained the same size, he sized up his rugged hard hitting opponent and showed finesse, cuteness as well as true grit, to duke it out and  show he’s a boxer with a heart plus an indomitable will to win, via adaptation and savvy. Top marks.
