British Josh Padley (15-0-0, 4 KO’s) was  authorized to challenge American Shakur Stevenson (22-0-0, 10 KO’s), WBC lightweight champion, after Floyd Schofield withdrew from the fight due to health problems.

Padley, 29, comes into this fight after defeating his compatriot Mark Chamberlain (16-1, 12 KOs) by unanimous decision.

This Friday at the official weigh-in, Shakur stopped the scale at 134.1 pounds, while Padley weighed 134 pounds.
