Turkish fighter Seren Ay Çetin defeated Eva Voraberger from Austria, two-time WBC world champion on May of last year during an entertaining fight in which she won the World Boxing Council Silver Bantamweight title, at the Caferağa Sports Hall in Istanbul, Turkey
Seren Ay knocked out Voraberger early in the fourth round and became the first female boxer from Turkey to win a WBC-recognized title.
Now, the Silver Champion Seren Cetin will fight Mary Romero on April 30 in a silver title defense; the fight had to be postponed due to the terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Perhaps most touching story surrounding this is historic match is that the Turkish Champion, Seren Cetin auctioned her belt, her most prized trophy, to raise money for the victims. Actions that make us very proud.
The boxing night to be held at Sancaktepe Mustafa Öncel Sport Complex on Sunday, April 30, will be broadcast live on Spor Smart screens from 18.00.
We wish both fighters the best of luck.
