Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is a global boxing superstar, achieving remarkable success that has cemented his position as one of the sport’s biggest attractions and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of his era.
His impressive career includes winning the WBC super welterweight championship in 2011, a title he defended seven times. He also captured the middleweight title and the WBC Diamond belt by defeating the legendary Miguel Cotto in 2015. After reclaiming the super welterweight championship, he returned to middleweight to regain the WBC world title by defeating the then-undefeated Gennadiy Golovkin in their epic rematch.
In 2019, Canelo moved up to light heavyweight and knocked out Sergey Kovalev to become a world champion in that division.
