Rock Steady Boxing Arrives in Mexico to Combat Parkinson’s Through Boxing
In a day filled with emotion and social commitment, a Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) Regional Training Certification was held at the MAR-JCC facilities in Miami, Florida. This event marked a milestone for sports and health in Latin America with the official signing of the contract establishing the first Rock Steady Boxing center in Mexico.
The RSB Mexico delegation, proudly represented by the Cerezo Family of “The White Collar Boxing Club,” formalized their alliance as the first official affiliate in Mexican territory. With this signing, the club becomes a pioneer in bringing this internationally proven methodology to improve the lives of thousands.
The certification event concluded successfully with 23 newly certified trainers, who now possess the technical and pedagogical tools to guide Parkinson’s patients through their training.
Rock Steady Boxing is a high-intensity, non-contact, and non-competitive exercise program specifically designed for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Through professional boxing training techniques, the program seeks to improve participants’ mobility, strength, and coordination. More than just a therapy, RSB is a support community that empowers patients to “fight back against the disease,” helping to slow the progression of symptoms and elevating their self-esteem.
