Rey Vargas wants to fight Magsayo NEXT!

 After the impressive victory of new WBC featherweight champion, Mark Magsayo, his next commitment is already on the horizon, in facing former world champion Rey Vargas, who`s made a successful ring comeback, after recovering for almost two years out, due to a broken leg. 

Today fully recovered, Rey was a special guest at “Coffee Tuesdays” to talk about how he expects the fight against the newly crowned Philippine champion to map out. 

Grateful to all those who have been following his health progress and his recovery, Rey assured that today more than ever he`s ready to conquer a new division.

 Reflecting about the pandemic and where his recovery has left him, Vargas mused that the greatest wealth that a human being can have, is health and family, because today more than ever he realizes that life as we know it,  can change in an instant. So, we must be grateful and value what we have, enjoying things that we normally take for granted. 

Regarding how he expects the fight with Mark Magsayo to unfold and develop, Rey stressed it won`t be easy, but regarding the performance he saw against Gary, he considers that he has many available resources, with which to dethrone the Filipino. A perfect strategy is needed.

Legendary trainer Ignacio Beristain, who also accompanied us in the traditional conference, was emphatic in saying that the fight between Mark and Rey will be a great show because both are boxers who expend everything, adding that Rey is a boxer who works very hard, with a lot of discipline plus total focus. And that`s why he predicts that the world will have a new monarch. Don Nacho, as he is known in the world the gloves- emphasizes that Rey possesses all the skills to win. But it`s imperative to have at least two or two and a half months of thorough and comprehensive preparation, since a fight as tough as this one, demands as well as requires it.

Regarding the prospect of being up against another great trainer, namely Freddie Roach, who`s in the corner of Magsayo, Don Nacho enthuses it`ll be an absolute delight for him,. Even though their pupils have faced each other, they are good friends, and Freddie is a gentleman. 

Rey and Nacho confidently predict that 2022 will be the year in which Vargas is crowned champion of the World…again.
