WBC flyweight champion, Mexican Julio César Martínez, will move up in division to 115 pounds, to face Román ‘Chocolatito’ González, on Saturday, March 5, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, in San Diego, Calif.
The fight was officially announced by the promoter Matchroom Boxing, it will be televised on DAZN.
Martínez (18-1 14 KOs) fights at 115 pounds for the first time and does so against sweet hitting “Chocolatito” (50-3 41 KOs), replacing Franchise champion Juan Francisco Estrada, who is not in a position to fight after becoming ill with Covid-19.
“I’m thrilled to be able to move up in weight and fight the best right away,” Martinez said. “Chocolatito is a living legend and a fighter that I have always admired, so fighting him in my first fight at super flyweight is special. It will be a war and I am ready for it.”
