
The former unified super lightweight world champion, Californian José Ramírez, will face the two-time former world champion, José “Sniper” Pedraza from Puerto Ricotomorrow, Friday, March 4, at the Save Mart Center, in Fresno, California.
Ramirez, from Avenal, California, returns to his home at the Save Mart Center, where he has held 5 main events drawing more than 65,000 fans from California’s Central Valley.
Jose Carlos (26-1, 17 KOs) will return to the ring for the first time since May’s decision loss to Josh Taylor for the undisputed super lightweight title.
Puerto Rican José “Sniper” Pedraza (29-3, 14 KOs), a former super featherweight and lightweight champion, hopes to join an elite list of Puerto Rican boxers to win world titles in three weight classes, but first he will have to win this tough fight.
Both warriors easily passed the official weigh-in of the evening. Ramírez registered 139.8 pounds, while Pedraza weighed 140 pounds.
The fight, which is promoted by Top Rank, will be broadcast on ESPN.
