Pretty marvelous! Bonita Sánchez crowned WBC Silver champion

Gabriela Sánchez Saavedra, known as “Bonita” Sánchez, became the World Boxing Council Silver flyweight champion this Friday, after defeating Ángela “Chiquita” Nolasco in Mexico City.

In the 10-round fight, “Bonita” dominated a highly contested match, and the Judges awarded her the decision, with scores 96-94, 96-94 and 95-95.

The fight took place in the Villa Flamingos room, south of Mexico City.

For “Bonita” it was pretty important, as a stepping stone to contest the WBC Green and Gold Championship.
