The Carmona Boxing gym opened its doors for The Noble Art, with World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaimán cutting the ribbon, greeted by a round of applause.
Located at Avenida Encarnación Ortiz 1608 colonia del gas in Azcapotzalco in Mexico City, the gym was named after the idol Raúl “Ratón” Macías and is run by trainer César Carmona.
“In this gym, a BoxVal process was carried out, the boxing program of the World Boxing Council of the Scholas Foundation of Pope Francis and it was a complete success,” recalled Sulaimán Saldívar.
The leader stressed that places to do sports are always important, for the physical and mental health of young people and to keep them away from vices.
The President of the WBC delivered a card with the photograph of Pope Francis, with the blessing of the Pontiff to place it in the gym.
Carmona Boxing is open to boxing and kick boxing for practitioners of all ages, from children to adults.
César Carmona reported that between 30 and 50 girls and boys, 110 adults plus four professionals are hard at work each and every day.
