With the aim of reaffirming the work of proximity and the link with the citizenry, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City, inaugurated the first of six gyms that will be installed in different sectors of the Mexico City Police.
The ‘North Zone Gym’, which is located on Calle Andador 669 between 604-A and 606, in the Narciso Bassols neighborhood, Gustavo A. Madero, was inaugurated by the Secretary of Citizen Security, Mr. Omar García Harfuch, who was accompanied by the two-time world boxing champion, Guadalupe Pintor Guzmán, the Undersecretary of Police Operation, Israel Benítez López, among other champions and former world champions.
In his opportunity, the Secretary of Citizen Security pointed out that “boxing values are very similar to those of good police officers, it is perseverance, discipline, respect, knowing how to develop oneself and obeying the instructions of people as well, when required.”
champion Guadalupe Pintor told all the attendees who participate in boxing that “this wonderful sport is a life opportunity to be able to perform and leave a difficult situation, sometimes as children we have many problems, but when we drink this sport as a career is a wonderful opportunity.”
As part of the event, the girls, boys and teens, who will train in the new ‘North Zone Gym’, held an exhibition of the activities guided by their coaches.
Also present were boxers and ex-boxers “Bazooka” Limón, David “Severo” Carmona, Irma “Torbellino” García and “Pipino” Cuevas.
