World Boxing Council bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena (30-3, 14 KOs) will defend his crown against the division’s Silver champion, Ukrainian Serhiy Radchenko, on May 1 in South Africa.
Lerena won the interim WBC title in November 2023 with a unanimous decision over Senad Gashi. He was promoted to full champion in October 2024, when Lawrence Okolie vacated the belt and moved up to heavyweight.
After spending 2023 establishing himself at bridger, Lerena tried again at heavyweight in early 2024. But a narrow loss to Justis Huni last March had Lerena considering a return to bridger.
Radchenko, (11-7, 5 KO), 37, has won four fights in a row since 2021, capturing the WBC Silver title.
