O’Shaquie Foster in Mexico

Elegantly skilled WBC super featherweight world champion O’Shaquie Foster was present today at the World Boxing Council press conference in Mexico.

An emotional video was shown, recounting his story, his path with the WBC, and his most recent fight against Stephen Fulton.

Mauricio Sulaiman presented Foster with his championship belt, certificate, and bracelet, as well as a ring, as part of a new tradition within the organization. These honors correspond to his victory in the interim lightweight title bout against Fulton.

Mauricio Sulaiman stated:

“It is a great honor for us to welcome him here in Mexico and to present him with his championship certificate and belt. We are also introducing a new tradition starting today: a champion’s ring. I am very proud of you, O’Shaquie. Mexico welcomes you with affection, we welcome you to the WBC, and we thank you for your loyalty.”

O’Shaquie Foster added:

“I want to thank God, Mauricio, and the entire WBC family. It has been a very long journey, but having the WBC support me from the beginning has made everything much better. Just as they support me, I will always support the WBC. It is the best belt in the world.”

Keith Mills, Foster’s manager, also spoke:

“Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for having us here. I truly appreciate Mauricio and the WBC.”
