1979.- Puerto Rican Wilfredo “Radar” Benítez, defeated American Harold Weston by wide decision at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan. With this victory Benítez retained the WBC welterweight title.
1980.- Panamanian Hilario Zapata defeated Japanese Shigeo Nakajima in a great fight in Tokyo, Japan. In this fight the WBC light flyweight title was at stake.
1988.- Roger Mayweather, Floyd’s uncle, remained as WBC super lightweight world champion by defeating Mexican challenger Mauricio Aceves at one minute and 32 seconds of the third round in a fight that took place at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles. The Referee was Chuck Hassett and the Judges were Dave Brown, Tomatsu Tomihara and Francisco Manzano.
1990.- In Mexico City, Humberto “Chiquita” González knocked out Francisco Tejedor in the third round, defended his WBC light flyweight title.
2007.- Danish Mikkel Kessler defeated Mexican Librado Andrade by decision in Copenhagen, Denmark. In this fight the WBC super middleweight title was at stake.
2012.- American Danny Garcia was crowned WBC super lightweight champion by defeating Mexican Erik “Terrible” Morales. The match took place in Houston, Texas.
