1963.- At Madison Square Garden in New York, Emile Griffith from the Virgin Islands,  defeated Cuban Luis Manuel Rodriguez by decision. In this fight the WBC super welterweight title was at stake.

1990.- At the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, the Japanese Hideyuki Ohashi defended his WBC straw-weight title by defeating Thai Napa Kiatwanchai by decision.

2002.- In an expected bout between heavyweights, British Lennox Lewis knocked out American Mike Tyson in 8 rounds, in Memphis, Tennessee. In this combat the WBC heavyweight title was on the line.

2013.- Canadian Adonis “Superman” Stevenson conquered the WBC light heavyweight title by knocking out American Chad Dawson. The match took place in Montreal, Canada.
