The Monterrey Baseball Stadium in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, hosted a card starring Julio Cesar Chavez against former super featherweight and lightweight champion, Tony Lopez, from Sacramento, California. Chavez got the victory by TKO in the 10 round. Don King promoted the event. The Referee was Luis Carlos Guzman and the Judges were Harold Laurens, Daniel Van de Wiele and Nicolas Hidalgo.
