On this day in history, Nicaraguan legend Arguello wins first world title
November 23, 1974
Alexis Arguello shocked Rubén Olivares to win the world featherweight crown.
Olivares, a two-time bantamweight champion, was dominating in his first 126-pounds title defense, until Arguello landed his famed left hook in the 13th round.
The Mexican warrior made it to his feet but was dropped again before being counted out.
