The first fight of the legendary trilogy between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier took place 48 years ago.

On that night, Joe Frazier surprised the world by giving Ali his first defeat as pro. The match resulted to be a total war and the first chapter of what it would become as one of the greatest boxing rivalries of all time.

The bout took place at the Madison Square Garden of New York and more than 300 million people watched the bout through televisión; the biggest TV audience so far.
