On this day in history, Delfine Persoon, pride from Belgium, defended the WBC lightweight crown for the 9th time defeating the tough contender, Melissa St Vil.
Persoon, 34, needed six rounds to defeat Melissa St Vil, in an action packed entertaining bout.
St Vil, who from the first round fought bravely looking for the knockout, suffered the first loss of her career by TKO, as she could not keep fighting in the seventh round.
Delfine Persoon is considered among the best fighters in women’s boxing history.
