On this day, Harry Forbes defends his bantamweight belt

American Harry Forbes successfully defended his bantamweight defeating Britain’s Andrew Tokell by points in a ten round bout. The fight took place at the Light Ward Armory in Detroit, Michigan. Forbes started his career in 1901 and he retired in 1922, with a record of 86 victories, 45 of them by KO, 17 looses and 26 draws.
