2012.- Mexican Jhonny Gonzalez defeated Dominican Elio Rojas by decision in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. With this win González retained his WBC featherweight title.
2012.- In a fight between North American fighters, Chad Dawson defeated Bernard Hopkins by decision in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In this fight the WBC light heavyweight title was at stake.
