Omar Trinidad successfully defends the WBC Continental Americas crown in California

Omar Trinidad successfully defended his WBC Continental Americas featherweight title by defeating Héctor Sosa by unanimous decision, in a fight held in Commerce Casino in Commerce, California.

From the beginning of the fight, Trinidad boxed smartly while his opponent was cautious as he advanced, which led to Trinidad picking up the same pace.

Sosa was aggressive in some episodes, but Trinidad used his jab effectively. Omar controlled most of the rounds against a rival who showed great strength and determination, but it was not enough to defeat a rival with silky skills.

The results of the cards for Trinidad were 118-109, 119-108 and 119-108.

With this triumph, Omar has achieved 17 consecutive victories then a draw and now this significant win, while Sosa’s streak of three consecutive victories ended with defeat.
