Okolie Retains WBC Silver Heavyweight Crown

Lawrence Okolie secured a victory, retaining his WBC Silver Heavyweight crown.

After 10 rounds of limited action against Kevin Lerena, who is the WBC bridger champion, the boxer from Hackney, East London, prevailed with scores of 100-90 on two cards and 99-91 on the other.

The win leaves him with a record of 22-1, 16 knockouts, and still firmly within Queensberry’s competitive group of heavyweights.

Okolie is ranked No. 1 by the WBC and hopes to have an opportunity next year to contend for the world crown.
