The 2012 Olympic silver medalist from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Nyambayar will face tough Mexican fighter Eduardo Ramirez in a WBC featherweight elimination match.
The fight will take place on September 19, live on Showtime at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. The winner must challenge reigning 126-pound champion Gary Russell, Jr., against whom Nyambayar (11-1, 9KOs) suffered the only loss of his career.
Nyambayar hasn’t fought since the previously loss to Russell in February. Ramirez has won three of his last four fights since being defeated by Lee Selby in December 2017.
The 27-year-old southpaw from Los Mochis, Mexico, is coming from notching a fourth-round knockout of over the then unbeaten Leduan Barthelemy last November in Las Vegas.
