During the WBC’s traditional Martes de Café, Noel Mikaelian officially received his championship belt and ring as WBC World Cruiserweight Champion.
“Dark Horse” captured the title on December 13, when he defeated Badou Jack by unanimous decision, earning his second world championship.

During the conference, Mikaelian shared his gratitude:
“Thank you for having me, it’s always a pleasure to be in Mexico. It’s incredible to be surrounded by so many boxing fans. Thank you very much, Tepito. Thank you to Mauricio Sulaimán and the WBC for having us. Mexico has the best fans. I don’t have many words, but I have the most important and most precious belt.”
Mikaelian’s manager, Anthony Girges, also addressed the audience:
“I want to thank the WBC and its president, Mauricio Sulaimán. It’s wonderful to be back in Mexico. The Mikaelian team loves what the WBC represents. We have a great champion in Noel, we plan to hold on to this belt for a long time, and we have very big plans for 2026. We want to unify and become undisputed champions.”
Girges also took the opportunity to share a message focused on mental health:
“We all go through something in life, and each one of us has a purpose. The most important thing is mental health. There are two things we can do: take five to ten minutes for ourselves, and surround ourselves with people who help us.”

As part of the ceremony, WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán made the official presentation of the Green and Gold Belt as well as a championship ring, and added:
“I want to officially present the belt to Noel Mikaelian. On December 13, he defeated Badou Jack, becoming a two-time world champion.”
