Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson, is staying up late on Saturday night, way past his bedtime, in order to defend his US WBC heavyweight title against Ukrainian night owl contender Andriy Rudenko at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Anderson, also known as the Pride of Toledo, (15-0, 14 KOs) made his professional debut in 2019 and has emerged as a top contender. He finished his first 14 fights in six rounds or less. The 23-year-old will make his third appearance in 2023 less than two months after defeating former world champion Charles Martin.
Rudenko (35-6, 21 KOs) is 39 years old and has more than 16 years of professional experience. He was 24-0 before losses to then-undefeated contenders Lucas Browne and Hughie Fury. In recent years, he has tested some of the great men of the sport.
In the co-main event, Nigerian contender Efe Ajagba will take on undefeated Kazakh southpaw Zhan Kossobutskiy for the WBC Silver heavyweight title.
The card will air exclusively on ESPN.
