World Boxing Council welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr from Desoto, Texas, is in excellent shape to face Cuban Yordenis Ugas on April 16 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Spence and his trainer Derrick James commented:
Errol:
“I feel good and I am ready for combat. This break was easier for me after the injury than after the car accident because it put so much less stress on my body. I was back in training before camp started for this fight, so I’m ready.
“Training camp has been great. I’ve had great sparring and we’ve been focused. I got a nutritionist, and it has made my weight loss a lot easier.
“I have everything in my arsenal. Whatever Ugas brings to the table, I’m ready for it. I’m going to dictate the pace and control everything.”
Derrick:
“Camp has been great. Errol is working hard and strong. We’ve had some very fast, very sharp, strong sparring. Errol knew this fight was coming for a long time, so he has been training for months and months and preparing himself mentally.
“To be able to have Errol fight at AT&T Stadium is amazing because he just shows the progression and maturation as a fighter. For a young fighter like Errol, it’s a dream come true. We can’t wait to get in the ring.”
The fight is organized by Premier Boxing Champions and will be broadcast on Showtime.
Tickets for the live event, promoted by TGB Promotions and Man Down Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at SeatGeek.com, the official ticket provider for AT&T Stadium.
