Poland’s Nikodem Jezewski and Croatia’s Marko Calic will face each other on December 13 in Poland for the vacant WBC Bridger International championship, a title that could position the winner as a direct contender for a future world title shot in a division still taking shape.
Jezewski, with extensive experience on the European circuit, will look to capitalize on his home-field advantage to solidify his presence in a category created for fighters between cruiserweight and heavyweight. Calic, who has previously competed at light heavyweight and cruiserweight, aims to prove that his move into the Bridgerweight division can open a new competitive path.
The fight is part of the WBC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Bridgerweight category as a viable alternative between two historically distant divisions in both size and weight. The result could trigger new movements within a contender list that is still in formation.
