Erick Napoles, grandson of the legendary champion José Angel “Mantequilla” Napoles, a responsible young man and barber by profession, unfortunately fell into the world of drugs.
Erick understood that his addictions had already become a problem and that he needed to recover, so he approached the World Boxing Council to request support.
The grandson of the champion was admitted to the Clinica Baja del Sol, owned by Julio César Chávez, who does an outstanding job together with his team, helping hundreds of people to overcome addictions.
Erick already has the appropriate treatment that will allow him to change habits, behaviours, and attitudes, in order to resume his life and overcome this problem.
Almost two months after he entered the rehabilitation clinic, the doctors assure that Erick is evolving, and he is fully willing to be treated.
A few days ago, the Napoles family had an emotional virtual meeting where everyone noticed Erick’s improvement and was able to verify that addictions can be overcome when there is desire and willingness.
The WBC especially thanks Julio César Chávez and congratulates Erick Napoles for bravely fighting bravely, just as his grandfather did in the ring.
