Japanese Junto Nakatani will return to the ring on October 14, when he faces Petch Sor Chitpattana, defending his WBC bantamweight title, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, in an event that will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Nakatani (28-0, 21 KOs) will step into the ring for the third time in 2024, making the second defense of his WBC title. The 26-year-old southpaw stopped Vincent Astrolabio in the first round last July.
Nakatani captured the belt in his third division in February, dethroning Alexandro Santiago by technical knockout in the sixth round.
Junto is undergoing a great preparation at the MT Boxing Gym as he wants to prove that he is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters at the moment, achieving a resounding victory against the experienced Thai challenger.
Petch Sor Chitpattana (76-1, 53 KOs) is also fighting for the third time this year. In December 2018, the Thai contender fought Takuma Inoue for the interim WBC bantamweight belt, but was unable to secure the victory.
