People are coming from ever corner of the Globe and every part of Mexico. to honor and cherish the life, achievements and the memories created by Dona Martha Saldivar Sulaiman, because they think the World of Her.

The Ceremony giving thanks for a strong life, so very well lived, is on Monday starting at 10am at the Old Basilica of Guadalupe.

The Bedrock of the Sulaiman Family. The Mother of two girls and four boys and the Grandmother of many more grandchildren, Dona Martha proved an enabler, a marvelous Parent and a reinforcement for Don Jose. Without Her, he wouldn`t have been able to travel the World, establish ties and links with its nations and build the World Boxing Council into the most important boxing powerhouse with the greatest reach.

At home, Dona Martha was often the Mother and the Father, teaching and guiding life lessons with calmness, fairness, kindness, wisdom and above everything….Love. The Sulaiman household was and remains a safe haven for boxing people,  many of whom are from humble backgrounds. There is always a place at the table for each and every one of them with food to eat as well as enjoy. Dona Martha made no distinctions. She showed the same consideration to a sparring partner, or a second from the corner, as for a first echelon superstar champion. To Her, each one is a human being of worth, precious value plus esteem and respect.

When Don Jose was taking and fielding telephone calls from different time zones from different Continents in the middle of the night, it would be Dona Martha who would be making him a snack or one of his favorite special salads. It would be Dona Martha, who would supervise and make and accomplish a dinner for thirty guests. sometimes at the drop of a hat, and with funds coming from the remains of the day, buy her youngest Son a drum Kit, only to be played…. when Don Jose had left for the office. Percussion beyond discussion?

Dona Martha`s Funeral, Her eldest Daughter Lucy said: ”I have lost my best friend.”  The greatest tribute, because your Mother is your best friend. You`ll never have a better friend than your Mother.  The Matriarch of the Family. The beacon and its shining light in the middle of the darkest night. People gravitated to Her, instinctively recognizing goodness and its consistency.

The Service at the Old Basilica is not a lament. It is a celebration of Dona Martha`s wonderful and so memorable Life. During and throughout Her life, She loved to play cards with her friends. The secret to holding a winning hand is to be even handed yet also selectively choose your aces, kings and queens with care. There are photos of Muhammad Ali, Don King, Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran,  Omar Sharif, Ryan O`Neal and so many other glittering stars at the Sulaiman home.  They were all welcome, as everyone is at the Basilica of Guadalupe.

An Open House at the Invitation of the Sulaiman Family and the World Boxing Council Family which encompasses and embraces almost two hundred nations. A Family of Nations. All who come will see a photo of Martha and Jose. His confident and radiant smile, Her`s slightly reserved and a little shy.  The compliment of a great marriage and now they are reunited as Kindred Spirits.
