With an absolute and resolute display of power at the iconic Bazaar Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, Chinese boxer Muhetaer Maihemut was crowned the new Cruiserweight Champion of the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF).
The card, presented by promoter Wang Fei, lived up to expectations by delivering a lightning-fast finish that left the fans present in the Thai capital stunned.
The clash for the vacant title brought Muhetaer Maihemut (China) face-to-face with local fighter Nattapon Plangpimai (Thailand). However, the Thai fighter’s resistance was brief against the visitor’s momentum.
Maihemut came out determined to end the fight from the opening bell. With a combination of precise and powerful punches, he managed to stop Plangpimai just 1 minute and 47 seconds into the first round. The referee declared a Technical Knockout (TKO) upon seeing that the Thai fighter could not continue, thus officializing the new reign of the Chinese giant.
With this victory, Muhetaer Maihemut consolidates himself as one of the figures to watch in the cruiserweight division within the Asian and Pacific region.
