
Former world champion Montell Griffin was presented with an Honorary Resolution by 25th District Alderman Lopez during an event held at the MK Tells Gym in Chicago.
The recognition celebrates his career, his contributions to the community, and his legacy as one of the most respected figures in American boxing.
Griffin became the WBC light heavyweight world champion after defeating Roy Jones Jr. in March of 1997. The American boxer also held the WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title on two occasions.
Montell “Ice” Griffin retired from boxing in 2011 with a record of 50-8-1, including 30 knockouts.
