Local hero Michael “Irish Mick” Conlan ignited the crowd at Dublin’s 3Arena as he captured the WBC International featherweight title with a stunning fourth-round knockout over Jack Bateson.
Conlan controlled the fight from the outset, dropping Bateson once in the third round and again in the fourth with a decisive barrage that forced the referee to stop the contest.
With the victory, Conlan became the 27th fighter to claim the WBC International featherweight championship, securing one of the most important wins of his professional career in front of his home fans in Ireland.
