
Mexican Gohan Rodríguez captured the World Boxing Council Silver Super Flyweight title after defeating former Nicaraguan champion Cristofer “El Látigo” Rosales by unanimous decision this Saturday in the main event of a card held at the “Vicente Fernández” Palenque in Gómez Palacio, Durango.
In the bout, the Mexican utilized his speed to dominate his experienced rival from start to finish, landing several heavy punches. Consequently, the judges did not hesitate to declare him the winner with cards of 99-91, 100-90, and 99-91.
With this victory, the 25-year-old Rodríguez now holds a record of 20 wins (3 by knockout), four losses, and one draw.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Rosales was left with a record of 38 wins (23 by knockout), eight losses (two by knockout), and zero draws.
