Mauricio Sulaimán Presented Award at Hipódromo de las Américas Handicap

The 80th edition of the Handicap de las Américas, the most emblematic race in Mexican horse racing, had a special touch this weekend with the presence of Mauricio Sulaimán,

The President of the World Boxing Council, was in charge of presenting the award to the competition’s winner.

Mauricio was delighted to return to a venue that holds a deep significance for his family.

. “The Hipódromo de las Américas is something very special, a special place in my heart. My parents, when they arrived from the province, spent time here as a couple, building a family and a future. Being here for me is an honor, and sharing it with Mr. Víctor Cota and María del Rosario Espinoza is a huge honor,” he expressed in an interview with El Heraldo de México.

On this occasion, the event also paid tribute to two great sports figures: historian and chronicler Víctor Cota, a reference in boxing journalism; and triple Olympic medalist María del Rosario Espinoza.
