Is it a whirlwind, a caped crusader, or the Green Hornet?
No…of course it’s Snapman Mui of the World Chinese Fighting Council, who is photographing hosts of people at the 63rd World Boxing Council Convention in Bangkok, Thailand.
In the lobby, meeting rooms, lifts, elevators and grand salon of the Marriott Marquis, Queen’s Park Mui is energetically moving and jiving with a photographic device which looks like a cross between a sandwich maker and a hair dryer, and also a conventional camera slung around his neck. Suite!
Watchful, quick, observant yet charmingly persistent and persuasive, hundreds have succumbed to his charms and had their photos taken…many times in group form. Say CHEESE. One, two three.
Mui was in especially sparkling, effervescent cheeky Chappie form during Usyk meet the press time, almost stealing the show from Oleksandr, who is a master showman. No mean feet, so let’s give Mui a warm hand.
The man’s a dynamo. He’s uploaded more than five thousand photos on his facebook.
When awarded a trophy by the WBC for his ability as a snapper, mover and shaker, Mui danced for his supper on the Convention stage. He jived, twisted and turned like a contortionist. He boogied, waltzed and fox trotted.. Poetry in motion and a step in the right direction. Twist and shout!
The delegates, governors and even the media, were enraptured. When Mui’s dance a thon finished, they roared to applaud. Sensational! What a hit!
Presenting him the prestigious WBC trophy was not a snap decision. Outstanding, he’s stood out as a personality craftsman, a gentleman, and now he himself has been framed. As all good photographers, he responded… with a merry reel. Jig-a-bite?
