The flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Mexican Julio César Martínez, will face the Puerto Rican McWilliams Arroyo at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, December 3.
Martinez and Arroyo clashed last year in a fight that ended prematurely, due to a crack of heads in the third round.
Julio Cesar recovered from a knockdown in the first round to attack McWilliams with a powerful left hook and even though he was hurt he was able to finish the round on his feet and fighting.
In the second round, with greater power and precision, Martínez forced Arroyo to clinch on several occasions. In an exchange of blows, both had a clash of heads that left two cuts on the Puerto Rican’s eyelid.
For the third round, at the request of the Referee, the ring doctor came up and when checking on McWilliams he realized that he could not see. So the Referee halted the fight, which was declared a “No contest”.
The trilogy clash between Juan Francisco Estrada and Román “Chocolatito” González will also take place on this compelling card and will be broadcast live around the world on DAZN.
