The Filipino Inferno could return to boxing this year.
Mario “Azteca” Barrios, the WBC world welterweight champion, could defend his crown against none other than Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao.
The fight could take place next July 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Pac Man” has not seen activity in the ring since August 2021 when he faced Yordenis Ugas. The fight he lost by unanimous decision.
Of course, if Pacquiao were to return, he would go through the necessary medical exams and the approval of the Nevada Athletic Commission.
The main reason for the legendary Filipino boxer to return would be the desire to retire definitively as WBC champion.
Mario Barrios holds a record of 29-2-1 with 18 KOs.
Manny Pacquiao has a record of 62-8-2 with 39 KOs.
