RING TELMEX-TELCEL fighter, Marco Verde, is fully focused on his duel today against British Lewis Richardson, in a semi-final fight that could allow him to advance to the final 71 kilogram division as part of the Olympic Games being held in Paris, France.
“Mexico will be watching this fight… The RING TELMEX-TELCEL team is supporting him from a distance and we hope that he reaches the final of this division,” said Doctor Rogelio Herrera Echauri, who celebrated, at the initiative of Arturo Elías Ayub, Director of the TELMEX-TELCEL Foundation, that Verde is part of the program, because “he has already earned it.”
Of course, Marco Verde’s team is nervous about the duel against Richardson, but there is also confidence that the fighter from Mazatlán can sneak into the final if he manages to beat the British fighter. It is clear that the fight will be very difficult, but Marco is a fierce warrior, who once in the ring, transforms and likes to give his all, he is not a fighter who backs down before his rivals.
Verde defeated the Indian Nishant Dev last Saturday in an intense duel where he showed his mettle. With this victory he secured the bronze medal and gave him the right to compete in the semifinals.
Marco’s duel is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 6, at 1:46 p.m. (Mexico City time) and will be broadcast by Claro Sports, on its YouTube channel.
