During Coffee Tuesday, we greeted one of the greatest referees in the history of the sport, Lupe García.
The Mexican Referee has just returned from Poland, since on Saturday he served as referee of the battle for the vacant Bridger championship between Lucas Rozanski and Alen Babic.
Both contenders came into the fight with a perfect record and a high KO’s Ratio, pledging high drama action.
And so it was, as Lukasz Rozanski conquered the World Boxing Council Bridger title, by knocking out Croatian Alen Babic in the very first round, on a card that took place this Saturday, at the G2A Arena in Rzeszow, Poland.
Rozanski didn’t give Babic any opportunity, since from the bell rang in the first round, the Pole attacked the Croatian visitor with power, sending him to the canvas.
Babic got to his feet, but Rozanski hit him with a powerful right hand that once again put him in bad shape, while he was landed with all kinds of combinations. Referee Guadalupe Garcia decided to stop the fight because Babic was receiving too much punishment.
Today, during our Coffee Tuesday, the President of the WBC recognized the excellent work of the referee, who was very attentive and timely.
Mauricio Sulaiman
“The lives of boxers are in the hands of a referee, justice is in charge of the judges”
“May the health of the fighters always remain a priority for you. I want to congratulate him on his professionalism.”
Lupe Garcia
” I am very thankful for this recognition as Don Jose used to say: It is better to stop a fight one punch before, that one punch too late.”
