Multiple former world champion, Jorge Linares, is grimly determined to show in no uncertain terms that he`s still the elite lightweight.
Linares will challenge the lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council, the North American Devin Haney, on May 29 on a card that will be broadcast by DAZN from the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
“This is my moment to show the world that I still have so much more to give at 135 pounds. Devin Haney is a talented and fast young man. But when I was his age, I had already become a world champion by taking the featherweight title from a great champion like Oscar Larios. Now I have much more experience and I feel stronger and better than ever.
“It will certainly be a tremendous fight, but I will show that Haney made a big mistake by accepting a challenge that he is not yet ready to overcome.”
