
Light flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Masamichi Yabuki, dedends his title against compatriot and former world champion Kenshiro Teraji, in a direct rematch, Saturday night at the City Gymnasium in Kyoto, Japan.
Masamichi Yabuki won the WBC crown on September 22nd, when he dethroned Kenshiro by TKO in the tenth round.
It was a great performance by Yabuki, who dominated much of the fight, until getting the definition in the tenth round. Kenshiro was undefeated and was the favorite to retain the 108-pound crown.
This Thursday the final press conference took place, prior to next Saturday’s fight.
Teraji commented: “I am very excited. I want to win back that Green and Gold Belt. I want to win, and I will leave no doubt that my loss was just a stumble.”
Champion Yabuki said: “I have had a great preparation for this fight. I am the champion, and I am going to prove it in the ring. I have no doubt that I am a better fighter, and you will see it on Saturday.”
