The Legacy Night 2025 fight car this weekend at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium in San Salvador, was a landmark event for the region.
It was the first time El Salvador hosted such a major event sanctioned by the World Boxing Council. All the regional WBC fights were supervised by the organization’s General Secretary, Robert Lendhardt of the United States, and the president of FECARBOX and WBC Vice President, Alberto Guerra of Panama.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán sent a message celebrating the event’s success: “El Salvador has shown that it can host top-level events. Tonight is now written in the history of boxing.”
The crowd responded enthusiastically, with a massive turnout that buzzed with excitement from the first preliminary fights to the main event.

Kingsley “The Black Lion” Ibeh was crowned the World Boxing Council Fecarbox heavyweight champion after defeating veteran American Gerald Washington by technical knockout in the third round.
From the opening bell, the Nigerian fighter took control with an aggressive but calculated style. With faster hands and a higher work rate, he forced Washington to constantly retreat.

Although the Californian bravely got back on his feet, the referee decided he was not in a condition to continue and stopped the fight, declaring Ibeh the winner by TKO.
