KnockOut Promotions wins Purse Bid for Alen Babic vs. Lukasz Rozanski for the vacant WBC Bridgerweight Championship

At the beginning of 2023, the World Boxing Council reported that the first WBC Bridgerweight Champion Oscar Rivas, suffered a detached retina and will be unable to fight in the near future.

Consequently, the WBC designated Oscar Rivas as champion in recess until confirming his status. The WBC Board of Governors voted in favor of the following resolution to immediately address the status of the Bridger division:

Order #1 Alen Babic to fight #3 Lukasz Rozanski for the vacant title with a 50-50 purse split. The winner will commit to comply with 2 mandatory fights

Today, during our weekly press conference, the official purse bid to obtain the rights to organize Alen Babic vs. Lukasz Rozanski

Andrzej Wasilewsky of KnockOut Promotions got the rights by offering $425,000 against the $350,000 offer from Matchroom Boxing, who was represented by Tom Dallas.

For this fight, the WBC will apply its purse division rule for pursebid fights. The 10% of the total bid will be reserved to be paid as a bonus to the winner.
